Boise City Council to Vote on Flag Resolution Following State Law Changes

BOISE — The Boise City Council will vote May 6 on a resolution to confirm which flags are officially recognized by the city. The move comes in response to a new state law impacting public flag displays.

Mayor Lauren McLean said Boise will continue flying flags on City Hall Plaza that reflect community values. City Council President Colin Nash added that the resolution supports values of equality and civic pride while ensuring legal compliance.

Local law firm Holland & Hart has offered to represent the city for free if legal action arises. The vote is scheduled for the council’s regular meeting, which is open to the public.
