Candidate Profile
Brandon Lee, a lifelong Idaho Falls resident and real estate business owner, is running for Seat 2 on the Idaho Falls City Council. The seat is currently held by Lisa Burtenshaw, who is running for mayor. Seven candidates are competing for the position.
Background and Priorities
Lee, 49, has worked in real estate for two decades and previously handled land acquisition for Target stores nationwide. He says those experiences showed him how important it is for cities to plan growth strategically rather than leave it to chance.
If elected, Lee says his focus will be:
- Careful planning for future growth
- Responsible use of tax dollars
- Keeping Idaho Falls a strong and welcoming community
Lee holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and is a CPA. He owns 208 Real Estate Ventures.
Community Involvement
Lee has served on the city’s Parks and Recreation Commission for seven years and is active in local youth sports, coaching multiple soccer teams and leading the Idaho Falls Tigers girls’ varsity program. He also serves as a precinct officer with the Bonneville County Republican Central Committee.
Why He’s Running
Lee says his motivation comes from a desire to give back. Inspired by his father’s service in the Salvation Army, he believes one person’s involvement can make a lasting impact.
“I want to be purposeful and strategic in the decisions that we make, and I feel that I can help do that,” Lee said.
Election Day is Nov. 4.
