NAMPA, Idaho — The Idaho Horsemen, the Treasure Valley’s indoor football team, will not return to the Ford Idaho Center for the 2026 season, team owner Chris Reynolds confirmed this week.
Rising Costs and Declining Attendance
In a statement posted to the team’s website, Reynolds cited increasing facility expenses and inconsistent attendance as key reasons for the move. These financial pressures, he said, have made it increasingly difficult to keep the team competitive and sustainable in the Idaho market.
“We’ve done everything we can to grow the sport in Idaho, but without consistent media support and attendance numbers that meet our needs, it’s become harder to keep moving forward here,” Reynolds said.
The team’s managing partner, Angelina Reynolds, echoed that sentiment, suggesting a relocation could bring “the fresh start and energy needed” to keep the Horsemen brand thriving.
A Legacy Since 2019
The Horsemen have been part of the National Arena League and have called the Ford Idaho Center home since their inaugural season in 2019. Over the years, they’ve built a loyal fan base and a reputation for competitive play, but recent challenges have overshadowed on-field success.
Uncertainty Over Idaho Center’s Future
The announcement comes as the City of Nampa considers transferring ownership of the Idaho Center to the College of Western Idaho, citing a maintenance backlog and other spending priorities. The proposal has sparked debate, with many residents questioning whether the transfer is necessary.
What’s Next for the Horsemen
While no new location has been officially announced, the team says fans should “stay tuned” for relocation updates.
“Our mission remains the same — to build champions on and off the field,” the team said in its statement. “We’ll always honor our roots here in Idaho while looking ahead to a new chapter.”
