Officials stated the injuries were not life-threatening. No additional injuries related to the broken glass were reported at that time.
Family Describes Serious Facial Injury
According to information shared by the child’s family through a fundraising page, the child, identified as Isabella, was struck in the face by glass after a pane shattered during the fireworks display.
The family said Isabella underwent approximately three hours of surgery at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital. Medical treatment reportedly included a skin graft, and the child is expected to face an extended recovery period.
The family also noted that Isabella has autism, which may complicate her ability to process the trauma and recovery.
