Annie Henderson Haws, a Boise-based attorney, has been appointed to represent District 16 in the Idaho House of Representatives. Governor Brad Little made the appointment after the resignation of Todd Achilles, who stepped down to launch a U.S. Senate campaign.
Haws will serve the remainder of the current term through December 2026. She was one of three candidates recommended by the local Democratic committee.
Her background includes legal work in civil litigation, environmental protection, and teaching law. She has also served as a judicial law clerk in federal court.
This marks the second consecutive appointment to the seat, following Achilles’ own appointment in 2024.
