IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Authorities in Bonneville County are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning near the West River Road boat ramp.
The incident was reported around 7:15 a.m. Deputies with the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area following 911 calls from witnesses who reported hearing gunshots and seeing the victim.
One person was transported to the hospital. As of this time, the individual’s condition has not been released.
North River Road is currently closed between 81st North and 113th North while law enforcement continues its investigation.
Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. Bryan Lovell confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Deputies remain at the scene, along with aerial support from a drone unit. Additional details are expected as the investigation progresses.
