Shooting Follows Reported Break-In
Authorities in Nez Perce County say a 30-year-old Lapwai man, Christian Forslof, was arrested after shooting two people he claimed broke into a shed on his property Friday night.
Forslof and his fiancée called 911 to report the alleged break-in. While officers were on the way, Forslof fired multiple rounds at a man and woman.

According to investigators, the victims left Forslof’s property, but he pursued them about a quarter mile away and tried to detain them at gunpoint. Police say neither victim was armed.
During an argument with the woman, Forslof said he fired after she pointed her finger at him and walked toward him aggressively. The woman died before officers arrived, while the man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Arrest and Charges
Forslof was arrested and booked into the Nez Perce County Adult Detention Center. He faces charges of:
- Second-degree murder
- Attempted second-degree murder
The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation.
