Supreme Court Allows Trump to Enforce Transgender Military Ban

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled to let President Donald Trump enforce his policy banning most transgender individuals from serving in the military while legal challenges continue. The decision lifts lower court blocks that had paused the policy’s implementation.

The policy generally bars those diagnosed with gender dysphoria or those who have undergone gender-related medical procedures from enlisting or serving.

Three liberal justices dissented. Critics argue the ban is discriminatory and not based on military readiness. The administration maintains it reflects Pentagon assessments on effectiveness and cohesion.

Legal challenges remain ongoing in lower courts.
