
Fugitive Apprehended After Barricading Inside Camper
COTTONWOOD, Idaho — A wanted man from Montana was arrested in Cottonwood following a standoff with law enforcement that ended with the suspect sustaining a self-inflicted injury.
According to law enforcement, the Boise Police Department issued a “Be On the Lookout” (BOLO) alert for the suspect on September 29. Idaho County Dispatch later received a tip on October 5 that the individual was in the area of Church Street in Cottonwood.
Deputies responded to the location and found the man barricaded inside a camper. The Idaho State Police SWAT team was deployed to assist with the situation.
Suspect Injured During Police Contact
During the attempted contact, the suspect sustained a self-inflicted injury. He was initially treated at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood and later flown by Life Flight to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene for further medical attention.
Suspect Identified as Eric Wright
Authorities identified the suspect as 42-year-old Eric Wright of Kalispell, Montana. Wright was wanted on multiple felony warrants out of Whitman County, Washington.
The incident remains under investigation by local authorities. No injuries to law enforcement were reported.
