Suspects Flee Attempted Burglary Scene at Over 100 MPH
A high-speed pursuit in the early hours of Monday morning ended with the arrest of two fugitives from Colorado after they attempted to flee from police across multiple jurisdictions in southern Idaho.
Meridian police initially responded to a report of an attempted break-in on the 3800 block of W. Perugia Street. Upon arrival, officers spotted a suspect fleeing the area in a vehicle traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph—with headlights and taillights turned off.
Due to the extreme danger posed to other drivers, officers halted the pursuit near Kuna. However, law enforcement agencies across the region quickly coordinated to track down the suspects.
Multi-Agency Effort Leads to Capture in Garden City
Thanks to a joint effort between the Idaho State Police, Ada County Sheriff’s Office, Boise Police Department, and Garden City Police Department, the suspect vehicle was located a short time later near 36th and Adams Streets in Garden City.
Two individuals were taken into custody without further incident:
- Tyler John Dixon, 28, was wanted in Colorado for failure to appear on a felony charge. He now faces additional felony charges in Idaho, including attempted burglary and unlawful possession of a firearm.
- Brianna Lee Maestas, 26, was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and may face further charges.
Both suspects are scheduled for arraignment on Tuesday, December 2.
Law Enforcement Urges Public Assistance
Meridian Police are asking anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has related information in the 3800 block of Perugia Street to contact non-emergency dispatch at 208-377-6790.
