COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — Four private security agents connected to Lear Asset Management have pleaded not guilty to multiple misdemeanor charges following a physical incident at a Kootenai County Republican town hall on Feb. 22.
Paul Trouette, Russell Dunne, Christofer Berg, and Jesse Jones each face charges of battery and false imprisonment, along with security agent uniform and duty violations, after forcibly removing Post Falls resident Teresa Borrenpohl from the Coeur d’Alene High School auditorium.
Court records confirm the men were summoned in April and entered not guilty pleas through attorneys in early May.
According to police, the guards physically removed Borrenpohl after she refused to leave when instructed by Sheriff Bob Norris. The dragging caused “bruising, red marks and/or abrasions,” records state.
A fifth man, Michael Keller of Post Falls, is also charged with battery and has pleaded not guilty.
The investigation noted that Alex Trouette was present but did not physically engage and was named an accessory.
All defendants are awaiting further court proceedings.
