Kohberger Selfie Revealed in Idaho Murder Case

MOSCOW, Idaho — Prosecutors in the Bryan Kohberger case have shared a selfie of the suspect giving a thumbs-up, taken at 10:31 a.m. on November 13, 2022. They say it was snapped hours after he allegedly stabbed four University of Idaho students to death in their home. The photo, found on Kohberger’s phone, shows him with earphones in front of a shower. Police claim his phone pinged a nearby cell tower around 9:30 a.m. that day.

The victims—Madison Mogen, 21, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20—were killed in a 4 a.m. attack. A surviving roommate, “DM,” saw a masked intruder with “bushy eyebrows” that night. Kohberger’s defense wants to block her testimony, arguing he doesn’t have bushy brows. Prosecutors say her eye for detail strengthens her account and submitted his driver’s license, listing him at 6 feet tall, to back her description.

Kohberger was arrested in Pennsylvania on December 30, 2022. Evidence includes DNA on a knife sheath found at the scene and Amazon records showing he bought a similar knife. He faces four counts of first-degree murder and one burglary charge. His trial starts August 11.
