BOISE, Idaho — Governor Brad Little has officially signed Senate Bill 1211 into law, making Idaho the first state in the nation to allow over-the-counter sales of ivermectin for human use without a prescription.
The bill passed both chambers of the Legislature with strong majorities—66-1 in the House and 25-9 in the Senate—and drew national attention for its stance on pharmaceutical access. Supporters argue the measure improves public safety by eliminating the need to seek veterinary formulations of the drug.
The new law adds Section 37-135 to Idaho Code and takes effect immediately.
