Lawmakers Wrap Up 2025 Legislative Session
BOISE — The Idaho Legislature adjourned for the year on Friday, April 4, closing a session marked by $400 million in tax cuts, education voucher programs, and a new law restricting mandatory medical interventions in schools and businesses.
The final day focused on a revised version of a bill that bars public and private entities from requiring medical treatments, while still allowing schools to send home students with contagious illnesses.
Other highlights included:
- Creation of state-level immigration offenses
- Medicaid reforms
- Passage of insurance coverage for enhanced mammograms
The House adjourned at 3:45 p.m., followed by the Senate at 4:40 p.m. The session ends without a recess, meaning lawmakers won’t return unless a special session is called.
