Preventative Imaging Conducted in October
President Donald J. Trump underwent advanced imaging in October 2025 as part of a routine physical exam. According to a formal update released by the White House, the imaging focused on cardiovascular and abdominal systems as part of a broader preventative health evaluation.
In a recent public appearance, the President mentioned the imaging and stated the results were “perfect,” though he added he wasn’t initially aware of which body parts had been scanned.
Physician Confirms Normal Results
A letter from White House physician Dr. Sean Barbabella, dated December 1, confirmed that both scans showed no abnormalities.
“The purpose of this imaging is preventative: to identify issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure he maintains long-term vitality and function,” Barbabella wrote.
He added that the cardiovascular imaging returned “perfectly normal” results, and the abdominal imaging was also found to be “perfectly normal.”
The letter was read aloud during a White House press briefing by Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Physical Exam Follow-Up
President Trump’s full physical exam took place in early October 2025, just six months after a prior check-up in April. While the MRI was not originally included in public disclosures at the time, Sunday’s remarks from the President and Monday’s physician letter provided further clarity.
“What part of the body? It wasn’t the brain, because I took a cognitive test and I aced it,” the President told reporters.
Trump also reiterated that he intends to release the full MRI results.
